The necessity for thorough communication and follow-up is crucial during any real estate transaction, but maybe never more so than during an out-of-state or international relocation.
The folks at Century 21 Blackwell & Company Realty Inc., in the upstate area of South Carolina, know a thing or two about relocation. Their area includes a tech and manufacturing hub featuring companies such as GE, 3M, Honeywell, Lockheed Martin, Michelin, and others. Spartanburg is home to several colleges and universities, with a high transplant population moving into the area.
Earlier this month, the brokerage was awarded the Platinum Cartus Relocation Award based on exceptional customer service, successful cost management, and effective analysis and marketing of homes. “The Platinum achievement was accomplished by the hard work and dedication of our Cartus A-team agents, relocation director, broker-in-charge, and staff,” says Peggy Blackwell, broker-owner of Century 21 Blackwell & Company Realty. “Our entire team is always focused on providing the best customer service possible to each corporate client, USAA Real Estate Reward Member, Navy Federal Credit Realty Plus Member, and other clients of the Cartus Network.”
Jacqueline Vanderford, vice president of relocation, has four tips for brokers looking to position their brand as relocation specialists.
- Upon receipt of the client's information, make contact as soon as possible.
- During your initial call with the client, find out their "must haves," moving timeline, and any special agent requests that they may have, in order to effectively place them with the "right" agent.
- Make sure that the transferee knows that your firm’s relocation director is there for them to aid or intervene in the process, if needed.
- And, of course, follow up and communicate as often as possible.
“The entire [Century 21 Blackwell & Company Realty] team is an outstanding example of what can be achieved when you combine unrivaled feet-on-the-street knowledge, top-notch professionalism, and an unwavering commitment to first-rate customer service,” says Rick Davidson, president and CEO of Century 21 Real Estate LLC.
